Quality assurance
A laboratory at every unit, the same limits at all three, and not one batch dispatched untested.
‘Quality and Service’ is not a slogan here
Quality assurance is the cornerstone of a healthy business relationship, which is why we have lived by that motto in every part of the business. Our dedicated QA team makes sure the right product reaches your shop floor on time, every time.
What that means in practice: no batch leaves any of our three plants untested. Each unit has its own laboratory, and the same instruments and the same limits are used at all three — so the grade you approved on trial is the grade that arrives on your next order, whichever plant it ships from.
All Uptodate units are ISO 9001:2015 certified. The Sitarganj units are additionally ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certified.
What we measure — and what it means on your line
A test result is only useful if you know what it predicts. This is the instrument list, and what each reading actually tells you about how the adhesive will behave.
| Instrument | What it measures | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|
| Brookfield viscometer with Thermosel | Viscosity at application temperature | Whether the bead will flow cleanly through your nozzle at your set temperature |
| Ring & ball apparatus | Softening point | The temperature at which the bond starts to give — your heat-resistance ceiling |
| Melt flow index tester | Flow rate of the melt | Batch-to-batch consistency of the polymer base |
| Density meter | Specific gravity | How many metres of bead you get per kilogram — your real cost per carton |
| Tensile tester | Pull strength | Load the joint carries before it fails |
| 180° and 90° peel testers | Peel strength | |
| Static shear tester | Creep under constant load | Whether a bond holds over days in a stacked pallet, not just at the moment of testing |
| Rolling ball & loop tack testers | Initial tack | Hot grab — whether the bond takes hold at your line speed |
| Climatic & humidity chambers | Performance at controlled temperature and humidity | How the bond behaves in a monsoon warehouse or an air-conditioned clean room |
| Cold chamber to -60°C | Low temperature behaviour | Whether the bond stays flexible in cold storage or a winter supply chain |
| Weatherometer | UV exposure and rainwater simulation | Ageing resistance for anything that sees sunlight or moisture |
| Ovens and water bath | Elevated temperature conditioning | Bond strength after the product has been stored warm |
| Laboratory mixer, 600 g | Trial batch preparation | A new formulation can be made and tested in the lab before any plant time is booked |
Every grade, kept on the shelf
Reference samples are retained grade by grade and clearly labelled, so a batch you received months ago can be compared directly against what is on our shelf today.
That matters when something changes on your line. If a bond starts behaving differently, the question “is it the glue or is it the process?” can be answered from evidence rather than opinion — which usually saves a great deal of time on both sides.
- Samples retained and labelled by grade
- Batch results recorded against every dispatch
- Certificate of Analysis issued with the consignment
- Same instruments and limits at all three plants
